POSTPONED: How Do You Make a REALLY Big Shadow?

  • Registration Closed

This workshop has been postponed. Stay tuned for a new date announcement soon.

In this 1-hour workshop for elementary school teachers, we'll explore how shadows can help us understand the patterns of time.

Shadows are everywhere and always with us. To make a shadow, all you need is a source of light, and something to block the light. But what happens when the light source moves? How can you make a really big shadow? Are there ever any times when a shadow is so big it covers the entire world? In this webinar, explore the nature of shadows, and discover how eclipses work to create the largest shadows we can observe. We will show you ways to use storybooks and classroom activities to engage students in explorations of light and shadows, giving them age-appropriate opportunities to observe, notice, discover patterns, and make predictions.

$20 registration fee. We strongly recommend live participation in this interactive workshop. After the workshop, a recording will be posted, viewable by registrants only.
